Dr. Ann-Louise Ellwood

Dr. Ellwood is a registered psychologist who completed her Master’s (2000) and Doctoral (2006) degrees in Clinical Psychology at the University of Calgary. Her clinical internship focused on outpatient psychiatry, psychosocial oncology, and family therapy.

Dr. Ellwood is a cognitive-behaviour therapist whose private practice is focused on providing psychological services to those living with chronic or life-threatening illness, adults and youth with depression and anxiety, and families in distress. She is also the clinical director of Reach the Peak Behaviour Intervention Services. This program provides behaviour consulting, behaviour therapy, and cognitive behaviour therapy to school aged children with Autism Spectrum and related disorders.

Dr. Ellwood is a former Izaak Walton Killam scholar whose doctoral work identified factors that mediate the desire for hastened death among terminally ill cancer patients. Following completion of her doctoral degree, she worked as both researcher and clinical practitioner at the BC Cancer Agency. In this role Dr. Ellwood served on provincial and national groups including the National Cancer Institute of Canada’s Clinical Trials Group and was instrumental in the creation of a multidisciplinary research team investigating the neuropsychological impact of brain cancers. During this time she also held an adjunct professorship at UBC Okanagan in the department of Psychology. Dr. Ellwood also worked at Okanagan Ability Centre and Diversified Rehabilitation Group before opening her own private practice in 2009.


Dr. Kristina Towill

Dr. Towill is a Registered Psychologist and is nationally recognized for her knowledge of sexual and reproductive health issues, and marital and relationship therapy. She is a member of the College of Psychologists of British Columbia and a retired member of the Alberta College of Psychologists.

Dr. Towill is a graduate of the University of British Columbia’s Counselling Psychology Program and has earned numerous awards for her academic and research achievements. Her research interests are diverse and have included cross-cultural factors that contribute to depression and determinants of reproductive decision-making.

Clinically, Dr. Towill has completed numerous internships and practica, including training at GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre for Sexual Health and Vancouver Hospital’s Centre for Sexual Medicine. She completed her Residency at Kelowna General Hospital’s Psychology and Psychiatry Departments, assessing individuals with brain injury and serious psychiatric illness.

Dr. Towill currently has a large private practice in Kelowna, BC, where she treats patients with a wide variety of psychological difficulties, including depression, anxiety, trauma, sexual dysfunction, obesity and reproductive health concerns. She is a proud provider of psychological assessment and therapy services for the RCMP and for Canadian Veteran’s Affairs.

Dr. Towill is known for providing directive, goal-oriented psychotherapy, and for utilizing empirically derived cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness techniques. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Towill is a consulting Psychologist to Kelowna Regional Fertility Centre, Olive Fertility Centre in Vancouver and Kelowna Band Surgery Centre. She is a sought-after lecturer, and regularly speaks to professional and community audiences on a variety of psychological topics.
